Rotary brings together a global network of volunteer leaders who dedicate their time and talent to tackle the world’s most pressing humanitarian challenges. Rotary connects 1.2 million members from more than 200 countries and geographical areas. Their work impacts lives at both the local and international levels.
The Club’s out-going President Stephen Taranto was honoured at our Annual Changeover dinner with a surprise award presented to him by our NSW local member of parliament, John Sidoti.
Stephen received an NSW Premier's award for his work within the community. The NSW Government Community Service Award recognises individuals in NSW who have helped to improve the quality of life of members of their community beyond what would be expected in their usual occupation.
Stephen humbly accepted his award thanking his Board, club members and importantly his family for its undying support throughout his two-year term. ''It has been a challenging time for people managing throughout the Covid pandemic, but together we have achieved a lot helping local community groups and a number of international projects such as the Ukraine appeal and the freshwater project in the Philippines. I thank everyone for their involvement.”
